June edited June Except I had to make a tiny change to some header file of CUDA 7, because the compiler complained about a "comment in a comment". June Thanks Genoil! Genoil said:. Yes then that's what it is. Had hoped for a bit more on 9xx but the only way to possibly get it faster is to completely turn the implementation of the algorithm upside down, and then still it's a bet My Linux build's crashing I had been developing with a very specific Proof of Work and difficulty, and ironically, just for that exact problem it produces the same results as the opencl kernel.
So I though I was on the right track. For other Proof of Work though, it occasionally prodcues the same results, but most of the times completely different. I'm afraid it's back to the drawing table July Still not having any luck with your ethminer July edited July It's not benchmarking as good as it was on Win 7. But on actual mining -U is giving me a solid 5Mhs whereas -G only gets 2.
Do you have any idea why mining hashrate is slower than benchmarks? When launching, you can never specify a value for --gpu-workgroup-size larger than the first argument.

It defaults to The mining hash rate is lower because of some additional code overhead, but it seems quite high on your setup, esp. After running overnight the workpackages throw: Error CUDA mining: an illegal memory access was encountered.
I tried to speed up the kernel by completely getting rid of shared memory and replace it with warp shuffles.Reduce exhaust drone cabin
Took me ages to get it working, only to find out it wasn't any faster than the shared memory approach. And now it doesn't even run on GTX I'll try to post a version today that allows you to choose between shuffle and shared. Was planning on that anyway.

Seems like the output you're reporting is from a quite obsolete ethminer version. Please report version ethminer -V. Your memory is almost completely used by a python process. Try to stop it and try running the commands again kill Compile for CUDA Driver contains whatever CUDA was current at the time, and is """""compatible"""""" across versions but note the large number of air quotes.
Best results always by matching all versions where CUDA is concerned. See also driver version to CUDA version table. Any luck fred50? Currently you have I guess the release binary which is Downgrade driver so that nvidia-smi says The driver release notes pdf lists what CUDA runtime is included in each driver release, keep going back until it says Toolkit has nothing to do with runtime, runtime comes with driver and changes to whatever's newest when the driver was released.
You have to run older driver before Or upgrade the toolkit to Make everything match or you will have problems. Hi fred50here you can find detailed documentation about how you can build the binary on your own. Apparently you have extracted source code from zip archive. That does not work. You have to clone the repository. Email address need to be escaped as and. Read the docs!! Side note I highly discourage you from using minergate as a mining pool. Minergate provides very low initial diff and you have a very powerful GPU card.
Before difficulty adjusts your card will try to push an extraordinary number of solutions to the pool causing delays in responses and, maybe, causing segfaults. Go to the directory where you cloned the repository then issue: git pull and then rebuild the binary. Skip to content.Version 1. Below you can find compiled Windows binaries to try out the mining them, both are Blakebased, but with some different requirements such as the need to use longpoll and getwork, and no support for stratum for Decred for example.
There are two versions available, the bit one is with support for older Compute 2. We have tested the new release on GTX and the results are slightly better at about 1. The ccMiner fork might be helpful to people that are having very high CPU usage with cgminer that results in lower mining performance, though the CPU load is still not that low even with ccMiner.
Also the use of ccMiner for mining Decred could result in less rejected shares from the pool and no weird errors as some people are experiencing with cgminer, so if you are mining DCR on Nvidia with cgminer, then you should try with ccMiner as well.
Yes, thanks! Both the bit and the bit versions are compiled with CUDA 7. CUDA 6. Will post back the results! Pretty please will you build a CUDA 6. I would appreciate it so much! The bit version has been replaced with a CUDA 6. Thanks so much admin! It is still getwork over stratum, not full stratum support. So while it may be better than normal getwork, you can still get a few rejects from time to time.

The error is not reported, so I thought It may be an out of index error, reported later, but I have An identical version of this program that makes no use of constant memory, and it works fine with the very same version of the kernel function In host code, s is a host memory variable which provides a handle for the CUDA runtime to hook up with the device constant memory symbol.
It doesn't contain a valid device pointer and can't be passed to kernel calls. The result is a invalid memory access error. However, the GPU relies on the compiler emitting specific instructions to access memory through the constant cache.

You can see more about how the compiler will generate code for constant variable access in this Stack Overflow question and answer. Learn more. Asked 4 years, 11 months ago. Follow the process described here and you may be able to figure it out yourself. It is illegal to pass s to the kernel in the way your code does it also makes no sense to do so. Does constant memory reside in an other address-space? BTW this was a conversion of a similar algorithm but that makes no use of constant memory, and s was a parameter, so I forgot to remove it.

May edited May Or only on WIN10? Did anyone manage to compile genoil's miner on arch linux or any other arch based distro?
Any assistance that leads to succesful compiling will be rewarded. Check you cmake version, i had to downgrade from 3. Before that i got errors similar to your first one. I just tried with cmake 3. Indeed it skips over the previous error with the redifinition of argument 'std', but it still gives me the errors I posted above.
I have a feeling this is related to the cuda toolkit package on arch linux. Genoil Not sure if it is a bug, but, after more than 40 hours ethminer froze with this:. I can't see what caused it, but the freeze is definitely something that should be fixed. Miners should be able to continue.
